Effective date: September 4, 2026
FamNme helps families connect, build family trees and preserve memories. This Privacy Policy explains how FamilyaConnect Private Limited ("FamNme", "we", "us" or "our") collects, uses, shares and protects personal information through our website, web application, mobile applications and related services (together, the "Services").
FamilyaConnect Private Limited is an Indian company with its principal office at Unit No III, 3rd Floor, Tower IV, Techscape Infopark, Kusumagiri, Kakkanad, Kochi – 682 042, India. We are responsible for the personal information we process as described in this policy.
This policy also covers information about people added to FamNme by others, including relatives who do not have an account. Some features depend on your location, subscription or the version of the Services you use. Additional privacy information may be provided when a feature involves different or particularly sensitive processing.
Account and contact information. Information you provide when registering, managing your profile, contacting support or communicating with us, such as your name, email address, phone number, sign-in details and preferences.
Family information and content. Family relationships, names, dates, biographical details, photographs, videos, recordings, documents, stories, tags and other information you or authorised contributors add. Content may reveal sensitive information, such as religious beliefs or health information. Please avoid uploading sensitive information that is unnecessary for your intended use.
Activity and technical information. Information generated when you use the Services, such as your IP address, browser and device details, operating system, app version, interactions, diagnostic records and security logs. Websites may also use cookies and similar technologies, as explained below.
Transactions and optional features. Where you make a purchase or booking, we process information needed for the transaction, such as order details, billing or delivery information and payment status. Where you use an optional feature, we process the information you submit or permit it to access, such as a recording for transcription or an image for enhancement.
Information from others. Relatives may add information about you or invite you to join a family space. We may also receive information from sign-in providers you choose, payment and fulfilment partners, or people contacting us about your account or content.
We use personal information to create and manage accounts; maintain family trees and memories; enable invitations, collaboration and sharing; provide requested features; process purchases and bookings; respond to support requests; and send service, security and transaction messages.
We also use information to understand and improve service performance, diagnose errors, prevent fraud and misuse, enforce our terms, handle disputes and meet legal obligations. Promotional communications are subject to your preferences and any consent required by applicable law.
Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we rely on the relevant basis for each purpose: providing a service under our contract with you, complying with legal obligations, consent, or legitimate interests such as security and service improvement where these are not overridden by your rights. Our contract with an account holder does not, by itself, provide a legal basis for processing every relative’s information. Sensitive information is subject to additional conditions required by applicable law.
Information can be visible to people who have access through the relevant family space, role, invitation or sharing setting. Before adding content or inviting someone, review the access you are granting. Public links, QR codes, exports and downloaded copies can allow information to travel beyond the original family space. Recipients may retain or reshare copies outside our control.
If you add information about another living person, make sure you have the necessary permission or other lawful basis, respect their preferences and share only what is appropriate. Being related to someone does not give you unrestricted rights over their personal information.
If someone has added information about you without your knowledge, or you object to its accuracy or visibility, contact us using the details below. You do not need an account to raise a privacy concern. We will assess requests under applicable law, including requests involving shared records and the rights of other people.
We share information with the people you authorise through the Services and with service providers that help us operate them. Depending on the feature, these providers may support hosting, storage, authentication, communications, analytics, diagnostics, payments, customer support or AI processing. They receive information needed for their work, subject to appropriate contractual restrictions and safeguards.
If you buy products or book services, relevant information may be shared with the seller, service provider or fulfilment partner to complete your request. Their separate handling of information is governed by their privacy notices where they act independently.
We may disclose information when required by law or when reasonably necessary to protect people, investigate misuse, establish or defend legal claims, or protect the Services. Information may also be transferred as part of a merger, acquisition or business restructuring, subject to applicable law and appropriate confidentiality protections.
If you use an AI-assisted feature, the content needed to carry out your request may be processed by the relevant technology provider. This can include photographs, prompts, recordings or transcripts. Feature-specific information should be read together with this policy, including any explanation of provider retention or model-training use. Do not submit information about others unless you have the necessary authority.
Device permissions, such as camera, microphone or photo access, support the features for which you grant them. You can manage permissions in your device settings; disabling a permission may prevent the related feature from working. A device permission is separate from any consent required for processing personal information.
We use cookies and similar technologies to support functions such as sign-in, preferences and security. Where analytics or other optional technologies are used, we obtain consent where required and provide relevant choices. You can also control cookies through your browser, although blocking essential cookies may affect the Services.
You can unsubscribe from promotional emails using the link provided, manage available notification settings, or contact us. Essential account, security and transaction communications may still be sent.
An adult may manage family records containing information about a child only with appropriate authority and safeguards. Creating a child’s family record does not itself authorise that child to create or operate an account.
Independent use by children is subject to our eligibility requirements and any expressly supported parental or guardian process. Where required by law, parental consent must be obtained before collecting or using a child’s information. Contact us if you believe a child has provided information without the required authorisation, or if you wish to request access, correction or deletion of information about your child.
We keep personal information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy. Retention depends on whether your account is active, the feature and information involved, your requests, and any legal, accounting, security or dispute-related obligations.
You can request account deletion by emailing support@familyaconnect.com with the subject “FamNme account deletion”. Contact us from your registered email address where possible. We may verify your identity before acting; please do not send passwords or identity documents unless specifically requested through an appropriate process.
Account deletion does not necessarily erase every shared family record or content another person independently contributed. We assess what must be deleted, anonymised, restricted or retained, taking account of applicable law and the rights of affected people. Any continued retention must have a valid basis. Information in backups may remain until the applicable backup cycle ends and is restricted from ordinary use.
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures intended to protect personal information against unauthorised access, loss, alteration and disclosure. No storage or transmission method is completely secure. Keep your sign-in details confidential and contact us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access.
Information may be processed in India and other countries where our service providers operate. Where applicable law restricts international transfers, we use the required transfer mechanisms and safeguards. You can contact us for information about the safeguards relevant to your data.
Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to access or receive a copy of your information, correct it, request deletion, restrict or object to processing, obtain portable data, or withdraw consent. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that was lawful before withdrawal. Certain features may become unavailable if necessary information or consent is withdrawn.
To exercise a right, contact us below and describe your request. We may need proportionate information to verify your identity or authority. We will respond within the period required by applicable law and explain any limitation or refusal. You may also complain to the relevant data protection authority or other competent body where that right applies.
We may update this policy as the Services or legal requirements change. The effective date above identifies the current version. We will provide additional notice of material changes, and obtain consent, where required by law.
